Agility and AKC Obedience and Neutering????? I know that a pup cannot be shown if they are spayed or neutered, but Teddi is so bright I would love to enter him into agility or obedience. Do the same rules apply? Meaning if they are spayed or neutered are they disqualified from competing? Thank you for any information!:) |
No, a dog doesn't even have to be purebred to compete in agility. So it does not matter that they are neutered, as far as I know.... but I hope someone with more knowledge will comment. :) I'm new to agility still, only taking 1 class. |
i have been taking agility for a few years now and are trainer has never said nothing about them not being fixed to compete we are actually getting them ready for competing and all dogs in the class are fixed |

If, however, you don't have an AKC registered purebred, your pup HAS to be spayed or neutered in order to get a PAL/ILP registration or the Canine Partners registration. In the case of my spayed Italian Greyhound puppy who is not AKC registered, I will apply for the PAL/ILP registration which will allow me to compete in the breed specific event of lure coursing. The Canine Partners is for competing in Agility, Obedience and Rally. It wouldn't include earthdog events. |

Yes, you can. There are also other agility organizations that you can compete in, USDAA, NADAC, UKC, and TDAA. There is also UKC obedience, I believe. |
