Making an Agility Course in the backyard Was thinking it'd be nice to have a play area for the dogs in the yard...that worked out okay, the kids ended up using some of their gymnastics equipment for the dogs to play with, tunnel etc and now I was thinking I'd like an agility course. How does one go about making one? Do I just imitate and copy the items I see in other agility courses or does anyone know about a do-it-yourself design or anything? Totally open to any suggestions on places to purchase equipment or on how to or blue prints. |
Sounds like fun. Here is a good link for building your own agility course: Build Your Own Agility Course For Your Dog There are quite a few home agility equipment packages available online. I have seen a couple of smaller ones at pet boutiques. They are a bit pricey. You can also buy pieces of the equipment individually. |
Target had a pretty good one last year at a very reasonable price. |

Here's a link to the thread about the equipment I made for mine. I just kind of made it up as I went along. PVC is really cheap and easy to work with. It would have been great to have those instructions but it isn't really that difficult. I'll also add the link to the video I made of her on it at the park. Now that Beemer is a year old I need to get back to it. I've been waiting till he could participate too. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/agi...at-i-made.html http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/agi...equipment.html |

You're right - PVC is great stuff. My husband teases me now about making everything out of PVC. If you do much with it I would recommend getting a cutter made to cut PVC. It wasn't expensive and made it much easier. |
