My husband and I trim our furbabies' nails ourselves. It's not bad at all. Actually, we prefer to do all the grooming ourselves too. With all the horror stories that we've heard, we just don't trust anyone else with our babies. But seriously, trimming the nails is not a big deal, just clip a little at a time, and keep quik stop just in case. The humping, we don't have to deal with that anymore, thank goodness. Sometimes they need the nutrical when they're not eating enough small meals per day and to prevent hypoglycemia, but you don't want to give too much either. Believe me from first hand experience, it's much easier to prevent hypoglycemia than trying to get a dog to recover from a hypoglycemic episode. At least that was the case with Miko. Good luck!!
