Other kids are gentel with her others no, and if a kid is not gentle with Pheobe I tell them to be gentle or I walk away with my dog, and the parents end up giving me dirty looks so if I ignore the kid that is making a big deal of my dog I get dirty looks too, I honestly don't know anymore what to do, regarding this matter because I don't know if the kid is going to be gentle or not.
This is one of the huge reasons why I don't let strange kids touch my dogs. When I first had my oldest girl, (she was a puppy at the time), a boy wanted to pet her. She kind of backed away so he proceeded to chase her (scared her half to death) and I had to let him know. Another time my rehabilitated aggressive Doxie was barking at some kids playing. The kids proceeding to come within inches of her and bark and trying other stupid things to provoke her (of course I had to be mean furkid mommy, again). Some parents think it's okay for a child to mishandle a puppy. When I was first trying to find out about Yorkies a woman once told me about her Yorkie. She said she sticks her Yorkie in the play pen with her kid. The kid always terrorizes (pulls the tail, ears etc.) when the Yorkie was in the play pen with her. I don't understand how some parents allow this. Don't they know it is a form of animal abuse? My point of this whole story is that not all kids where taught or know how to handle dogs and this is why I can understand why so many breeders have strict stipulations on whom their puppies go to.
