I am reluctant to give these types of medications..you do not want a Yorkie medicated to the point they are not moving around after surgery.
I have had many spayed/neutered/c-sectioned..and they came home within hours, alert and ready to eat dinner...they were able to go potty and many ran around acting as nothing happened. Some had to be penned to make them rest, others went to bed to rest, but were alert and not groggy...Yorkies can go down so fast and go into shock...so please watch them close on any medication that sedates them...if they have some pain, it keeps them from running around...that was my problem..mine for the most part did not act liek they felt any pain at all... |
This is what used to think about infants as well; they dont feel pain during a circumcision.
Pain is pain is pain.
Although, clearly yorkierose, you have the experience, I have very little. My feeling is, of course they feel pain. You had an excellent point, though, about it limiting their activity so they dont overdo it. I just dont like to see my "babies" in any pain.
I did have my male neutered (but also had dew claws removed) and he was in pain afterwards. Seeing him the way he was actually broke my heart

.
I can see though that my opinion seems to be in the minority here.
