Just to clarify, I am a stay-at-home mom (to doggies, of course) My husband works out of our home and we have all the time in the world to dedicate to our two dogs. Our dogs have been very well socialized and handle all situations very well. We will have children eventually, but not any time soon.

I agree with the breeders on here that you should be able to set your own rules and practices. It's good that you breeders are so strict, so that you can make sure the dogs go to good homes where they will be loved for their whole lives. That's why I think it's great that you do assess each situation individually

What I was trying to say in my previous post is I think it's all in how you raise a child around the doggie. Set rules and boundaries. Like with me, I could not imagine not having had my two "small" dogs when I was a child. Not all children are wild and crazy LOL
