You're absolutely not alone. I have a son and daughter, both grown and married, and I was feeling depressed ever since my daughter married. When we got Pookie, I thought she would be adorable, but she is way beyond that for me. I am dilerious about her, she pulled me out of my depression, and my husband is head-over-heels. He is with her all day since he is retired and I work, and she is his little shadow. He is on the same wave length with her and yesterday when he was called in to work (he has an occasional on-call job) and we had to take her to doggie daycare, he worried about her all day, and called me right after work when I'd picked her up to see how she was doing. We call ourselves "Mommy" and "Daddy" when we refer to each other in front of her. My daughter refers to her as "my sister". We have all completely gone over the edge since she came into our lives.
