I have not been on line in the last week because my other female had puppies. It was a disaster. I spent one entire night at the emergency vet and the entire next day in the vets office. She had 2 live babies and 2 dead ones. Then over the next days she became sick and the others 2 died. I was up around the clock trying to help them and pump her milk. Also more trips to the vet.
This mother was quite small (4.0 pounds) father 3.2 pounds. The babies were born 2.5 oz. She was under vet care the entire time. I feel so bad and don't know what I could have done different. I think her milk came in too heavy and it was the start of mastitis. (from the vets opinion). Very sad and want to learn. I might not breed her again. She is doing better but is very upset unless she is in my lap. |
