We usually don't have to deal with too much on the cold extreme. I spent this last weekend planting flowers and Sunday night out of the blue, we had a freeze! All my pretty flowers froze. I guess I should have looked at the weather, but I could count on one hand the number of times we have had below freezing temps in a year. I had planted my flowers with nothing but a light sweater on, and that was only because of the wind. But that wind was bringing in the freeze. I was so discouraged after all my hard work (muscles are still sore from all that stooping and bending!) that I told my hubby I was going to stick a plastic tulip in each one and call it done! JK -- I will probably try again in a couple weeks. At least the weeds are all pulled and new mulch looks nice.
