Default New York Body Plan

Yes, I agree with your sister. That workout is super effective but I certainly didn't get through the whole thing the first time I tried. It took me about five days to build up through the first few exercises. I also didn't do it in the supposed hour at first. I had to stop and rest after 3 or 4 different exercises. My pushups took longer. At first I could only do two real pushups. Yes, two. I am up to 50 now in 5 sets of 10. Just remember that like all good things- baby steps first. The video is a must because David himself is a good presenter and motivator. It's the first time a workout worked so well for me so quickly.I do Yoga on the days of the easy David workout. It was David Kirsch's program that got me motivated to run again because he insists on 45 minutes of cardio prior to doing his workout since cardio really burns the fat. But honestly, I couldn't do it at first and had to build up.

My favorite qoute from David is when he says how he thinks that a healthy diet and good exercise plan can give us the body and shape we want without going under the knife of a plastic surgeon. I never have, but too many of my friends under 40 have and I hope that I never do.

Good luck and have fun with it! Stick with it for at least a week. For the first week you may feel weak, kind of sick since your body is adjusting to the new routine and healthier diet, but by the second week you'll start feeling like Wonder Woman (if you're old enough to know who she is).
