I have heard that you don't have to get them every year. Every 3 years is plenty enough, but if you plan on traveling, groomers, walking in public, etc it would be in your best interest to have one. It is a law that you have to have them every year. They wouldn't let us into Canada without proof that he had his rabies shot. I know most groomers want proof too, plus what if something happens on a walk somewhere... Better safe than sorry I guess...
I do get my Yorkies that are at college with me all their shots every year. My parents have my 3 year old yorkie turned farm dog at home, and I am only doing hers every three years. Only because she never leaves the place. I groom all my dogs, so it's not a problem. |
