If it's been recent then maybe he is having a bit of a bladder problem. Take him to the vet and let them check to see if he has an infection or something.

I wouldn't worry about him being neutered. There are pups as small as 2 1/2 lb being spayed and neutered. I just had Lex done in January and he was a bit out of it when he first came home but by the morning he was back to normal. Lex was a good bit bigger weight wise than your boy though. My female Lulu will be spayed when she turns six months. She is currently 4 1/2 months and two pounds.

Believe me the Dr. will take blood work to be sure that there are no issues and that he will be able to withstand the medications and procedure.
