I want to switch from news paper to pee pads because the news paper definately does not absorb much. Any tips and tricks to get him accustomed to a pee pad and not freak out at it?

I started Tricksie on newspapers and she shredded them, switched to pads and just watched her closely and scolded her when she started chewing, also bought her lots of safe chew toys. She is also 6 months old and loves the kong ball with the treats in them. I am in FL and the weather is nice enough to start outdoor training, wish us LUCK.
