And just so you know, if your dog ever got out and nipped a child (I am the mom of a child who was nipped by a neighborhood cat, so I know about this) - you will have the police at your door asking for your vaccine records.
If you haven't done the vaccine, your pet will need to be quarantined for 10 days to make sure that there are no signs of the disease. Or the child will need to get Rabies Shots (said as the mom of a child who had to get Rabies shots...)
You should find a vet whom you trust and discuss your concerns. Some Rabies vaccines are every year, some are every 3 years, and state laws vary. |
