The Biewer Yorkshire Terrier is a breed that was developed in Germany. It is not a mixed breed dog. The first Biewer was the result of two traditional Yorkies who carried a recessive piebald gene. They've been around for about 22 years -- and have recently started coming over to the US. The standard for the Biewer is a tri-colored head -- blue, gold and white. Four legs, chest and tummy white, along with the tip of the tail being white. They do not dock the tails! The back is a combination of blue and white. There are several Breed clubs and you can also google Biewer to find out more information. If you are interested in getting a Biewer -- I would suggest that you do a whole bunch of research -- and don't just expect one breeder to be the expert! There's a lot of mis-information going around about these beautiful little dogs, and many people have gotten into the breed just to make money -- not caring about keeping up the breed standard. You can also check out Snow Yorkie's (yt member) website at

That's where I got mine from!
