Oh my! Thank you for all your kind comments.

(blushes

) Walter is doing just fine and is comfortably situated in our isolation where he will remain there until he is neutered, had his surgery and recovered from both. Our facility is a no-kill so there's no chance of anything bad happening to this little baby. He has now realised how comfortable a fuzzy bed is instead of the concrete and is loving all the attention he is getting from our great staff. I really wish I could adopt him but since I have 6 now and most of which are so high energy we don't think that my home would be a good one for him. We're hoping that once we've got the old fuzzy all straightened out we can find him a nice retired couple to spend the rest of his days with. It is rare that people come into our facility asking specifically for an older dog to bring into their home but it does happen. (those are the true angels) In the past 6 months we have had 3 "old as dirt"

doggies get WONDERFUL homes. And all three have serious heart issues and are incontinent (can't hold their pee!). So hopefully Mr.Walter will be just as lucky. He's got so much charm and has a lot going for him. I absolutely love him and can't wait until he's out of isolation so I can bring him up to my office where I can show him off to the public and 'hint hint' what a wonderful and lucky dog he is!
By law we have to hold him for 5 days to see if anyone comes to claim him. So everybody please put your little paws together and pray that nobody comes to try and claim him.

(We think the chances of this are doubtful but stranger things have happened)
P.S. Walter is the true angel.. He's a miracle in himself. The fact that he could endure such neglect and abuse and still remain the kind soul and cuddle bug that he is.. I'll tell you.. He's the kind of dog that makes you sit back and realise how lucky you are, you know? He's amazing and he gives me faith.
