Great thread. I really do believe it's dangerous letting strangers come into your home these days w/o knowing them at all.
It's sad that that's the world we live in, but we all need to protect ourselves and our families, so I'd totally understand meeting someone outside of their home.
I also would not mind whatsoever giving personal/vet references before I went to someone's home to make them feel more comfortable.
