Be sure to take along some moist baby wipes and paper towels. Some puppies get car sick -- my poor baby did and threw up in the crate I was transporting him in.
This made for a miserable drive home for him, wet from his throw-up and me with nothing to pull over and clean him up with. In fact, I still keep a small container of wipes in my glove compartment even though he doesn't get carsick anymore.
