I was recommended by my vet to feed 1/3 kibble diet and 2/3 fresh food diet. He suggested vegetables such as squash, sweet potato, carrots and suggested white fish, lamb or turkey over chicken, beef and pork. This vet is has a more natural approach to his treatments and I like that he doesn't want to bombard my puppy with unnecessary vaccinations and foods full of preservatives. In regards to kibble, I think as long as the kibble is natural/holistic you're giving you're puppy something that's good for him. A good rule of thumb is to read the ingredients labels...if you wouldn't eat the first 6 ingredients then I wouldn't give it to your dog. |
