Thursday morning I noticed that Codie had 1 small patch of hair missing. I checked the area and it was a little red but nothing too serious. So I didn't take him to the vet that day but I made sure to keep an eye on it. Then Friday after work I saw another patch of hair missing. Jim and I rushed Codie to the vet -- my vet knows me by now. I'm the PARANOID puppy mama! LOL!
But I can't help it. Ever since I lost my Katie, I've been EXTRA careful and cautious when it comes to my babies' health.
But I digress ?
Anyway, the vet said it looks like the hair was chewed off. He said it could be an allergic reaction to food or maybe shampoo/conditioner that is making Codie itchy. I checked all his food and treats and there are NO ingredients in it that should trigger an allergic reaction. Same goes for his shampoo and conditioner.
So Saturday, we were all sitting on the couch watching TV when I looked down on my lap and saw Cali sitting on top of Codie's back and CHEWING off his hair!!
Codie didn't even care. He just sat there and let her do it!! I immediately stopped her and said NO.
What can I do about this? Obviously she is doing this during the day when Jim and I are at work. I wish Codie wouldn't let her do this but he could honestly care less!! He's so easy going -- nothing ruffles his feathers.
As of this morning, Codie has FOUR patches of hair missing (by his left leg/side)!! EEK!!
What should I do? I'm at a loss here.
PS - Someone suggested that I seperate them or put Cali in a crate but that is just an acceptable option for me. I don't use crates and it would be unfair to keep Cali in a seperate room away from Codie and Tia. All 3 of them would cry their little eyes out. They usually sleep on top of each other in a tight little ball all day long. I couldn't possibly seperate them.
