Most of mine were over 8 months before I let them have free run as they were quite content to be in their pen or area. Cali didn't get free until she was 13months old because she liked to go in her pen. I would say I have to go to Nana's and she would run in her playpen and lay down. Now Pixie who I got at 13 months and wasn't housebroken, is a nightmare when confined. After the first night I put her in my bed and she was fine because she screamed when I put her in the playpen. When I had to g out and noone else was here I would put her in the pen and she screamed forever, Then she tore a hole through the playpen and escaped twice, Now we have a plastic crate and she hates it. I would leave her out but I am still a little nervous woth all 3 dogs loose that a fight may start. I can't wait until I can trust her to be loose. So I say if Gypsy seems fine with being out go for it. |
