Default panting in car

Today I was listening to a vet call in show on the radio. Someone asked this question. The vet said if the dog throws up it is getting dizzy it is motion sickness. If the dog just shakes and pants it could have anxiety about being in the car. He said to take the dogs favorite toy put in the car with dog in drive way. Don't go anywhere, just let the dog stay in the car with you for about five or ten minutes. Next day same thing. Gradually increase time, always with the favorite toy that he gets only in the car. Take the dog on short trips, to the mailbox, store or whatever. The problem is a lot of dogs don't like being in the car for long periods, so you have to desensitize them. I thought this made a lot of sence.

Good luck
