Hello,

My name is Jeanette and I live in Oliver Springs, TN. My 10-year-old granddaughter just got a Yorkshire Terrier puppy. I have had dogs all my life, but never a Yorkie, so I'm looking for advice from people who have a lot of experience with them. Her name is Samantha and she is 6 and 1/2 weeks old. I was concerned because she is so young. I think she should have stayed with her mother until at least 8 weeks of age. Any advice about taking care of such a young puppy?

I have two Bichons, Lacy, age 9, and Cosmo, age 8. Cosmo is a therapy dog and we visit the Children's Library twice a week where he gets lots of petting and the kids read stories to him.
