Winnie hasn't had a problem in the car...but when I was younger we had a golden retriever that would get "car sick." He would pant and drool over the backseat...seriously it looked like someone had hosed the backseat down. And he only went on short rides (to the vet or to the park). It doesn't hurt them, just some pets get anxious in the car. And like some other people already mentioned...if it's really bad you can get a prescription for a doggie sedative.
