My father-in-law has been allowing his dogs to lick the spagetti pot and that's mostly tomatoes. His lapso lived to 15 with no problems. So I didn't think tomatoes was an issue. I have not given her any yet.
I was told by my vet that the dogs love garlic. Mine runs away if i give her a sniff of a tiny piece.
The avocados I was surprised at. But it's in the same sentance as apples being toxic. I didn't know since it's so healthy for us.
Has anyone fed their dog avocado and had any issues? I gave her a tiny piece she loved it but I've seen no problems from that and it was a good week ago. I'll definatly keep it away from her now.. But im curious. and the apple warning has me stumped. It's even an ingredient in some dog treats.
Oh and carrots Susu loves them... I noticed though a couple of little chunks is enough anymore and it's bum washing time. I guess that would depend on how much human food they are used to.
Beans... hmmm was afraid to give her anything after I read about the avocados. I had a list of poinson foods for dogs that I keep close and that was not on the list. But then not many vegetables are, just the usual, onions, choc, mushrooms, etc.. |
Hmmm..Im stumped on the apples being toxic too. I give Izzy apples all the time. As a matter of fact, in my
Yorkshire Terriers for Dummies book, it lists apples as a good snack for dogs...who knows...

Its like when the news reports that a certain food is bad for us humans and we've been eating it for years!
