 They definitely sleep with us!
Both of them shares our bed. Samantha is somewhat torn between sleeping with her pups or with us, as she has not slept anywhere else but with us since she came on board. The first few days since she had her pups, we really saw her struglling, she tried to sneak in her pups by carrying it unto our bed one at a time, but we caught it and told her no (we don't want to chance it & squash the babies). She kind of mellowed out a bit, perhaps it is due to the pups would sleep more now than nurse, so we see her climbng on our bed every now and then just to cuddle. Then, when she hears one of her pups whimper, off she goes and be with them. It is so amazing how the maternal instinct kicks in. Then, when she is on the bed with us, she stays on the side where she has a good view of her pups. It is indeed a cute sight, kinda give you a warm & fuzzy feeling that this one is a very caring mom. One thing for sure, can't wait until the pups are old enough to join us!!! |
