Please help...any advice needed!!!
I have had my furbaby for almost 3 weeks now and at first she seemed to be very healthy. Well on Valentines Day we woke up to find her barely breathing in her crate..we had taken her out at 4am and she was fine so literally within a few hours this hit her. I immediately tried Karo thinking it was low blood sugar but still her breathing was very labored and she would barely move. We rushed her to the vet and as soon as we got there she began coughing up a small amount of blood and her gums were VERY gray
The vet immediately took her back for xrays and concluded that she had some sort of upper respiratory infections(not sure why or what caused it) but her lungs were inflammed and some fluid was present. Needless to say Callie spent the entire day in their hospital hooked up to IV's and oxygen..they were not sure if she was going to make it
Amazingly she pulled through it and has been home for a few days now..still on antibiotics but acting like her old self again...that was until this morning......I went to get her out of her crate as usual to go outside and noticed she was shaking (thought she might be cold) but as soon as we got outside I knew something was wrong by the way she was acting and picked her up only to find she was drooling and literally FOAMING at the mouth profusely!!!! I was scared to death, never seen anything like it. Again I gave Karo and called the vet. By this time Callie was acting normal again and drooling stopped so vet said to just keep an eye on her but that they were very concerned. She has a vet appt. on Thursday anyways so I was wondering if anyone has experienced anything similiar to anything I have listed above and can anyone suggest the appropiate tests that maybe I should have her checked for??? Any suggestions/experiences at all would greatly be appreciated...I just dont know what to think, will she outgrow this?
