 Hi from Sarasota
New to this site also. Have 2 great yorkies GG (5 lb female -14 mos) & JJ (9 lb male - 13 mos). Now I need YorkieRose's experience. The female came into heat 3 weeks ago and we didn't realize it, as it was her first and of course the male decided he needed to do his thing - how he got out of the crate I have no idea but he did and they hooked up - now her teats are swelling and she is getting very protective of her food bowl, which she never was before. His bloodline which I have a certificate and family tree of, states all his parents and theirs and theirs - goes back 6 generations - no inbreeding - all are under 7 pounds - seems he got all the bigger genes. My female's parents seem to have been just the opposite all over 7 pounds (have her lineage for 4 generations). What if any problems do you feel I may have with her pregnancy? I have been reading all sorts of postings on this site for the past 6 hours and now I'm am getting scared. My uncle raised yorkies, but that was a long time ago and he has since passed on - I was in my early teens and his yorkies were about the same sizes as mine and I don't remember him ever having any problems. Any words of wisdom will be appreciated.
