You could compare two bags of food. One with lamb listed first, the other lamb meal. You would think the one with lamb would be better but not necessarily. Since it still has the moisture it weighs more so they list it first. Take out that moisture and it would drop way down on the ingredients list. The one with lamb meal could contain a lot more lamb.
There are excellent foods that have lamb meal or chicken meal as their first ingredient. Solid Gold, Flint River Ranch and Canidae just to name a few companies. |
I must have misread the original post that summarized what was in meat-meal. I just looked it up online (should have done that before i freaked out) and saw it's just dehydrated meat.
