It's the same here. It's against the law to have a dog that's not vaccinated against rabies and I live in a city that will DESTROY the dog if it's bitten someone and doesn't have up to date shots. No if ands or buts. My dogs all get yearly boosters and the rabies shot is good for 3 years.
