Ahhhhh you all are so sweet helping out at the shelters!
I cant even count the number of dogs that have been just dumped by our house thru the years. Just makes me sick. Little puppies, older dogs........once we found a mama and two babies right in the middle of a corn field, mama was chewing hard kernels of corn off corncobs. Looked like a skeleton. We placed the puppies and kept mama since we figured no one would probably want her. She is 14 yrs old now approx. and the sweetest lil girl.
ANother time we woke up to two 4 month or so old puppies laying on our front porch. We placed one and kept Clyde. Hes around 10 now and a good watch dog.
Then their is Annie I have no idea how old she is........BUT OLD! Found her running frantically back and forth by the road chasing every car that went by looking for her owner.
Then their is Becky the beagle who we found yrs ago freezing in a snowdrift along the road. Those are just a fraction of the dogs that have passed thru here.
I just dont know how people can just dump a dog out and say "see ya!" SO sad.
Sometimes I feel guilty for raising dogs since their are so many unwanted ones out there. I think all my yorkies have went to excellent homes but ya just never know. I pray they are loved and never dumped or mistreated without my knowledge. |
