I have found that his ears are VERY expressive, he can even make them stand up once in a while if he tilts his head right.....

I was like you - I liked the ear down look. When I got Hercules he had one ear down and one up. It was adorable and I actually liked it better that way! Then both went up, then both went down. Now both are up. So I guess there's no telling how the ears will end up when they are young.
