I think it has to do with routines. I always get up early and have my coffee. All the dogs go outside for their morning pee (nothing but some nice cold brisk air to wake them up). Then everyone comes inside for canned food. Everyone just gets a little dibble, but it is something they look forward to. So anytime we get a new pup, they just automatically join in the routine and watch the excitment on the other dogs. They respond accordingly. Then onto waking the kids. All the dogs are excited to see the kids. I take the kids to school. Everyone goes outside for a little longer this time, most are ready to poop now. Then it's time to come in for a nap. Pretty routine at our house. |
