I understand 100% !! I was a wreck when mine had to have it done!! And I did 2 at once!
Anyway, my Vixxen was 5 months old and Lexxi was 6 months old! She is only 4.5 lbs today, full grown, so she was tiny and I was so scared!
I know they say to do it before their first heat.
I can tell you that I slept on the floor with the babies afterward and Vixxen (who is the smaller of the 2) bounced back to her old self easily and fast! It was much harder on Lexxi, but she has hydrocephalus (which we didn't know at the time) and has always responded to anesthesia in a "worser" way.
My vet said to take Truffles at about 6 months too...which I'm not looking forward to but I will............
