How old is Max? If he's around 7-8 monthes he's having major hormone rushes. If he's older it's probably a case of trying to establish dominance with the new members of the pack. If your girl is pretty regular at 9 month intervals, you can expect her next heat to be 9 monthes from the beginning of her last. Pregnancy doesn't interrupt their normal cycle but the length of time that she nurses her pups can modify it.
