Since I already explained how much money she made on the dogs that I fronted her, she really made a point to let the jury know that her fabulous life style with BMW's, horses, motorcycles, property in Colorado, the hugest diamond ring on her finger I have ever seen on anybody in real life, etc... I guess the jury felt sorry for her that I took that kind of income away from her. That's my theory of course along with a few other theories that I would rather not speculate on. Also to answer your question about how I make a living. Yes - I know you don't approve - but selling puppies is what I do for a living to support a wife and four children. My job isn't a 9-5 job. I work 17-18 hours a day, 7 days a week and when I go out of town I have other people that take over. As you know yourself raising puppies is far from easy and I work my tail off to keep these puppies in the best conditions and health. Our whelping unit is better than most veterinarian facilities and that's a fact. No - I'm not a vet but I think I have just as much or maybe even more experience with puppies then most vets do. When you live and breath any job and put the kind of hours I do for over the past 20 years I would say you become a professional. So yes - I vaccinate, worm, dip, clip, groom, and whelp my own dogs. This is not against the law and the last time I checked - either is having a puppy farm. I agree there are many puppy mills out there that the dogs are in terrible conditions and they do need to be closed. My kennel is not in that category. I do my best to take good care of all my animals and I think the Houston SPCA will agree with that (as you all already know). You might think it's wrong for me to make a living the way I do and your entitled to your opinion. I grew up in Ireland on a farm and my family was not well off by any means. I didn't have the priviledge of even finishing high school let alone going to college because I was needed at home to work on the farm. I know a lot about animals - all kinds of animals not just dogs. I have a lot of respect for animals and I do care about animals despite what you all think. The puppies don't leave my yard sick but like I said before we are dealing with live animals here .... I have gone into this far too many times to get into it again. Anyways... I know I'm no fan of the majority of the people on this sight but I do feel I am entitled to make a living just like anybody else and yes I like my job (most of the time) but it gets pretty difficult trying to keep up with a whole lot of bashing going on. I'm no scam artist that is out to scam people. I'm just an ordinary guy trying to make a living the best way I know how. It is pretty hurtful to think that most of the people on this sight including the media want to try and destroy a whole family's life. I do my best to fix any unfortunate situation with the pups that may arise but I can't help it if a person doesn't want to follow the contract that they themselves have signed.
Your alright Co Momma. You seem to approach things with a bit of class even though you don't agree with how I make a living. I do respect your opinion and I do appreciate the fairness you have shown on this sight (most of the time). I am only coming on to this sight because I do want you people to hear my side even if you don't like it. I have spoken to many other breeders and kennels, etc. about interviewing with the media and I have been told that they really twist things up and make a person look very bad with their cameras and editing, etc... I would like to tell my story but I need more than 3 minutes and I quite frankly don't trust the media. It is very obvious that David at Fox 26 is not a fan of mine and I don't feel I will get a fair shake. They are only interested in telling the dirt and unless he is willing to interview some happy customers I don't think want to talk to him. |
You continually skim over the major issues. Why are you selling and reselling sick puppies and then not making the situation right when one dies or becomes horribly ill?
I don't feel bad for you because people are bashing you, because clearly you have no good customer service or care for the clients that you've hurt. Even with my own personal feelings on puppy mills.. I just think that you are a terrible business person and it's unfortunate the dogs are the ones that get the brunt of it.
