I hate when the groomers cut my Yorkies between the eyes. I always told them not to and sometimes they still did. I found a new groomer.
The first time I took my dogs there, she still cut between the eyes. I went off!! They never did it again. The growing in stages are kind of hard because the hairs can poke the eyes but I grew theirs back out and lke it long into their pony-tail. But grooming should be to your own personal preference.
