Definitely volunteer! Not only will it help you narrow down what fields you like, but it looks GREAT on a college application and scholarship applications! As for money...student loans are fantastic. You don't pay a dime until you graduate, and even then, the payments are pretty low and the interest rate is as low as it gets. Also, going to an in state, public university will be much cheaper than going out of state. Some states even offer a Hope Scholarship, where they pay for some of your schooling, but you have to stay and work in that state for the number of years that you took their scholarship. Not too bad a deal.
