My mother-in-law had almost the same problem....she bought a "yorkie" from a breeder here in Indiana, which the breeder told her that he was going to be a bigger yorkie and that was ok with her. He is 15lbs and looks nothing like a yorkie. I've told her from the begining (she brought him home when he was 6 weeks old!!! RED FLAG) that I thought he was mixed with somthing else, but she insists that he is a yorkie (you know since he has AKC papers) She has even had another breeder who has seen her dog say that he wasn't a yorkie but a silky terrier! Anyway she loves the dog and wouldn't trade him for anything. My point being, if you get a refund Great!, but if you don't at least you have a pet you love dearly. And do as much as you can to report her and let other potiential buyers beware.
P.S. If you're looking for him a friend, you might look into silky terriers. I don't know much about the breed but they sure do look a lot similar to yorkies, and they're bigger. Maybe someone who knows more can further comment. |
