People who breed females under 5lbs aren't good breeders, that's the problem. People go out & buy a dog that's intended to be 'used' as a fashion accessory from backyard breeders who are breeding dogs that don't fit the standard. Anyone who knowingly goes out and purchases a dog that is going to be that small (2-3lbs) is a fool and deserves to end up with the heart ache that comes with having such a small dog. Early death, a lifetime of sickness, ect. May be harsh, but that's my opinion of the people ruining the breed that I work hard to improve
