Why change anything if the baby will be sleeping in a special infant sleeper that attaches next to the bed. I prefer to have my girls in bed, they bark & warn us if they hear an unfamilier noise. We have steps at the end of our bed so they can let themselves down. One night they got down off the bed, ran to the lanai doors barking. Came back to bed to get us up. We followed them to the doors to find a bob cat, or a large cat trying to get in to get to the girls food I forgot out there. Hubby scared it off & never saw it again.
