Hi -
I am going to be a Yorkie owner next week! I have always loved this breed, but have always had large dogs - German Shepard and Brittany Spaniel. The dog I am getting is a male, 15 months old, and I have lots of questions. Of course, I will read up on here, but have some specific concerns that I hope someone can help me with. From what I have read, Yorkies are very committed to their owners. The dog I am getting is purebred, with papers. His owners had a baby, and the dog just cannot tolerate the baby, so he is currently staying with the baby's grandmother till he comes to live with me. They have told me he is a bit timid.
First, will this little sweetie bond with me? I am retired, so will have lots of time to spend with him. Also, his name is not to my liking...will he adjust to a new name?
