If the litter box idea isnt working outside of the crate, why not take her outside when you come home and let her relieve herself out there? She is 6 months old and should be able to hold it in her crate for quite a few hours until you get home and then let her out right away...no play time in the house until she goes outside first...then let her out every 30-45min while you are home. I have never had any of my dogs mess in their crate...even as young as 12 weeks, they held it for a couple hours until we came home. I tried the litter box and pee pads but forget it..they are happier to hold it and go outdoors. I think for some dogs it just doesnt work to use the litter box or pee pads...good luck to you!!
