I can't say from anyone elses experances, but I have a yorkie that broke his neck in July and he was sleeping alot after surgery. I always call them his healing days. He still does this. And his head would get warm once in a while but there was never a temp when I checked. His temp would be normal. And I have noticed since his surgery because they have to put the tube down their throats that he does cough some only after he drinks. I think it might be from scar tissue in the throat. Then again I am not a doctor. But I have experiance everything you are going through and Babybear has been fine. And believe me if I thought something was wrong I would call the ER or the vets and they would just say keep an eye on him and call if he gets worst. So this is what I used as a rule of thumb with him. I say do what you would do for your children. If you would take them to the doctors when they do not feel well then take your baby to the doctors. I treat Babybear like a child and everything seems to be going fine. I might not have been much help, but I want you to know I have been there and am still there with my little guy. Good luck and keep us updated please.
