Piper was just neutered on the 19th (@ 7 1/2 months old/ 5lbs.), and he had 16 baby teeth pulled! He had double of everything! His teeth are really strong now, and he recovered right away, so don't worry, they will get all the extra teeth at the vet. Good luck!
