I would at least try the pills - I know we're always reluctant to fix a problem with our babies with drugs when we can't see the need for it. Clearly though your little one has to be in some degree of pain to have her NOT be using that leg. I would try the pills for at least a day or two - keeping a close eye on her. At least if she doesn't start to put weight on her leg AFTER taking the pills as prescribed, you can go BACK to your vet and force him to do some further investigating. Are you SURE the pads of her foot are okay? Does it hurt when you rub the bottom of her foot? Have you tried to put her foot down and does she resist?

Good luck with your baby, I hope it's something easily remedied!
