 Does your Yorkie ever forget potty training?
Hi everyone!
I know this thread may belong in the training section but I wasn't sure. Anyway, does your Yorkie ever forget their potty training for a while and wet on the carpet or floor?
My Yorkie, Lulu, is litterbox trained and does quite well with it most of the time. However, she will go through spells where she will just squat near the litterbox and wet right on the carpeting. I can't figure out why she does that. I try to catch her when she is going on the rug and tell her "no no" and that she should go in the litterbox. This seems to confuse her more and then she doesn't know where to go and sometimes will hold her "tinkle" for long periods. I don't yell at her because it confuses her.
When this happens and then she happens to go in her litterbox, I praise her and give her a treat so she knows that is where she should go.
Has anyone else ever experienced this? If so, do you know why she might be forgetting her potty training?
