Sissy is spayed, so I don't have any experience with heat. Missing Link is a great supplement to help get their coats in shape. It is considered a "super food" so it is also really good for those who might be picky eaters. Sissy's coat has definitely thickened up from using ML.
You can usually find it at PetsMart. If you decide to use it, start with very small amounts and gradually build up. It is very high in fiber and can cause stomach problems if you give too much too fast. The normal dosage is 1 tsp for a 20 lb dog, so depending on your pup's weight a daily dose is going to be small.
