I, too, think that is high for blood work. My vet, whom I think is very expensive, but I like her alot, told me the bloodwork was also good for a baseline example as they get older. Cooper's blood work was 80.00, about half the cost of his neuter. I did call around and could have gotten Cooper's done cheaper elsewhere, however, as I said, I like Cooper's vet alot, she always spends as much time as needed with us and always remembers Cooper and things about him. (I think that is very important) So, I went ahead and payed the higher cost for peace of mind. If you aren't thrilled with your vet, call around, it wouldn't hurt to price compare and maybe even get a vet you were happier with...if you like the vet you already have..I would get the bloodwork done, firstly cause it's a good thing, but secondly for your peace of mind, surgery day is tough enough, without second guessing your decisions on the bloodwork...that is just my two cents Good luck!
