My back & side yard is gated for the dogs all along the left side is woods. We have tick flare ups in those woods=(. I found that the advantage did not prevent ticks but the front line did. We tried advantage 3 different times and ended up with ticks on the big dogs. We decided to stick to frontline as that seems to work best for flea and tick prevention.
